I love this recipe it’s filling and full of warm comfort. The flaxseed gives it that nutritional boost and well cinnamon is just the best.
Apple and Cinnamon Oats
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 Apple cubed
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp milled flaxseed
- Honey to serve
- Put your oats, cinnamon, chopped apple and boiling water in a saucepan, stir and leave to sit for a couple of minutes.
- Add your almond milk and heat on low for around 10 minutes, until you reach the consistency you like it. I tend to add a dash more almond milk after it’s cooked to make it creamier.
- Scoop your porridge into a bowl sprinkle with the flaxseed then drizzle over honey to taste.
You can also make this the night before by swapping the boiled water for extra almond milk, add it all to a container and stir. Store in the fridge overnight and simply warm it up in the microwave when you’re ready to eat!
